📚 How rippling works
Trust first, then books. Value only flows where each pair of accounts has a line of trust; crossing one is a free IOU-relief (rippling).
Trade legs cost. Every leg across an order book or AMM slot settles at market price — that's the exchange rate baked into the quote.
XRP inside = auto-bridge. Most pairs trade against XRP, so exotic-to-exotic routes usually detour through the base asset automatically.
Quotes drift. Ledgers close every 3–5 seconds; depth moves. Anything shown is an estimate, never a guarantee a real payment would match.
XRP → XRP needs none of this — native coin settles directly between accounts.
